SUMMER OPEN ART PROJECTS FOR KIDS

All Summer Projects

Open Art Class on Thursday's and Friday's for Kids

​

So many fun projects need the summer heat to dry! This year your child can choose what to make on a day they can attend.

Parents, you can drop off your child, or pay the additional materials fee and stay to make your own! If your child is under 7, you are still welcome to make these projects, if you stay and make your own, but plan on making most of your child's project too ;)

Please note that some projects take 2 hours or 4 hours. That means if you choose a four hour class you will pay for 2 classes and come back the next week if possible, or it's flexible.

Reservations are required due to a limited class size of 5-6 children.  One parent per child if staying to make the art too.​

Summer Open Art Projects:

Emojii or Translucent Lamp

Thurs &  Fri, 12pm-2pm

Emoji Jar or Translucent Lamp
Ages 7-15 | $50

The emoji jar is made with bits of yellow tissue paper, glued onto a small glass jar. After it's dry, the emoji face is added with a template. The translucent lamps are made flat with sharpies over an optional template, then glued into a cylinder when complete. These include a battery powered tea light for inside the lamp.

Paper Maché Ice Cream Cone or Sundae

These are traditional paper maché, made with bits of paper and glue. After it's dry, the flavor decorating begins!

Monogram Box

Monogram Boxes with Jewels

Ages 7-15 | $50

These cute 4 x 4 inch boxes are painted and decorated with a  letter and jewels.

Birdhouse 2025

Bird Houses
Ages 7-15 | $50

The cute bird house options are pictured, and they are painted with acrylic paints. Optional decorations like jewels or moss are available.

Seashore Collage

This was made by painting a 10" x 6" piece of cardboard, then the net material and shells were glued over the top.

Sculpt on Canvas

Sculpted Canvas

Ages 7-15 | 2 classes | $100

We start with a 9 x 12 canvas and a concept. Then we make the shapes with paper clay that is moldable while wet. After drying for a week they are finished with acrylic paints.

Paper Maché Cactus
Ages 7-15 | 2 classes | $100

These cactus look great year round and you never have to water them! Make up to 3 cactus plants using tp rolls, styrofoam balls, wood pieces, silk flowers and junk store vessels.

Paper Maché Dog Or Cat

Or any creature the kids want to make! We start with an empty pop bottle and add the features, before using bits of paper and glue to make into one piece. Decorated with acrylic paints felt, ribbon, pipe cleaners and more!

Dragon Girl with Egg

Thurs &  Fri, 12pm-2pm

Dragon Egg and Dragon Girl Painting
Ages 7-15 | 2 classes | $100

First we start with the dragon egg and then the second half of the class is painting a Dragon Girl. Second class is when we finish both amazing projects!

Please note: If you would like to schedule a private 2-hour class for your group of 3-6 kids, they can be scheduled to start between 11am-5pm on dates open on the calendar.  Many painting options are available and can be seen on the www.artsonia.com/schools/school.asp?id=140937 in past years.  Thank you!
